From the Lab is designed to give our audience an update on tactics, platform changes and additions to channels via social and search. These updates can have huge impacts on strategy and we will strive to keep you up to date on the latest developments. In this edition we will discuss Facebook pledge matching for fundraising.

For  fundraisers  benefiting non-profits,  Facebook is now allowing  users to have the ability  to utilize pledge matching to  raise money. If a user wants to  raise money for a specific non-profit,  they can set a goal that they would be  willing to match in pledges ($5-$2,500) from  their friends and encourage people to donate. If  the pledge is matched, the users credit card will  be charged within 24 hours of the fundraising end date.  The user will only be charged what was matched, but not to  exceed what their initial goal was.

If you have any questions about any of these updates or anything new you’ve seen in the search and social world, be sure to email our Lead Strategist, Justin Johnson at jjohnson@modern.foundation and he’ll be happy to answer any questions you have.
