Do the blog post topics you’ve published not take off like you thought they would?

When writing a blog, it’s important to validate your topics ahead and there are some simple ways of doing this so that your audience will actually care about what you have written. In this blog we are going to discuss the things you need to do engage your audiences which will ultimately lead to higher traffic on your website.

Define your Audience

You need to start by defining the persona of the person you are writing to.  I do this by thinking about my best/perfect client and the problems they were having prior to us engaging with them.  Now, by understanding the problems they were having we can tailor what we write to be based on what the client may search for when they have a problem.

Figure Out Your Customer’s Questions

Write a Blog post on a topic that people are asking for in search engines.  The easiest way to figure out what people are asking is to head over to Answer Republic where you can input target keywords and receive list of all the common questions being asked about it in Google. This is a great way to come up with topics that your audience is interested in.

Find Trending Topics

Your audience will always engage with has been trending most recently online.  So, using sites like Reddit or an RSS feed tool are excellent ways to find ideas.  I like to use Reddit because it’s constantly up to date with trending topics and it’s easy to see what’s popular today versus last month or earlier this year.

Don’t make your blog idea generation harder than it needs to be.  With a little research you will be able to validate topics that will be popular and engage with your audience.
