The Associate Director of Digital Media is responsible for leading the execution of day-to-day digital media strategy, planning, buying, and campaign management across all of Modern Foundation’s clients. This role utilizes data and insights to inform media planning recommendations and optimizations to provide an innovative approach to digital marketing for our clients. 

This position plays an important role as a trusted advisor by leading the digital media team and providing strategic platform guidance to internal teams and clients. This position works closely with the Digital Strategy team, to implement and innovate digital media strategies that align with our client’s business goals and objectives. 

Additionally, the Associate Director of Digital Media is responsible for defining and evolving our digital media service offerings and establishing best practices across implementation to improve Modern Foundations capabilities and service delivery across all clients.

Responsibilities:

  • In partnership with the Associate Digital Strategy Director, develop solid strategic media planning recommendations to align with the client’s business goals, personas, and customer journeys. 
  • Prepare media plans with supporting documentation and manage campaign implementation according to client-approved budgets.  
  • Lead and champion the adherence to standards and best practices across all digital paid media channels on behalf of all Modern Foundation clients.
  • Setting a standard of excellence for performance.
  • Analyze campaign performance and recommend tactical changes to maximize campaign performance in alignment with established KPI.
  • Responsible for accurately reporting and documenting insights on campaign performance by client on a monthly basis. 
  • Develop and present results that leverage business insights and not just performance results.
  • Establishing budgetary estimates for specific marketing objectives. 
  • Perform research, analyze data, and develop key insights and action plans based on campaign results and provide recommendations for budgetary adjustments.
  • Oversee and ensure that ongoing account maintenance/optimization activities are consistent with the goals of the campaign.
  • Build credibility and trust with clients so you are viewed as an industry expert.
  • Be the subject matter expert on digital media management processes, establish processes internally and externally to maintain successful vendor and client relationships and efficiency.
  • Evolving and defining digital media service offerings and implementation.
  • Develop media strategy presentation templates.
  • Facilitating continuing education for all digital media platforms.
  • Manage, train and mentor junior team members providing guidance on career development.

  • You are fluent and credentialed across all major digital platforms.
  • Obsessed with knowing the latest news and products across digital media.
  • Evaluate and stay on top of emerging technology trends and platforms that impact media strategies and operations.
  • Entrepreneurial ideation, problem-solving, and execution skills are critical to success in this role. You bring great ideas to the table and help Modern Foundation grow our digital practice. 
  • Provide thought leadership internally and externally via point-of-view reports, blog posts, newsletters, and presentations.
  • Be a positive role model and mentor for the team.

Requirements:

  • At least 8+ years of agency experience specific to media planning and buying.
  • Ideally certified in GoogleAds, Facebook Blueprint, LinkedIn, Twitter Flight badge.
  • Possess strong quantitative and analytical skills. 
  • Expert understanding of the principles of marketing and advertising, as well as an understanding of media concepts and terms, creative and budget requirements.
  • Experience using third-party ad servers, data management platforms, and analytics software.
  • Ability to negotiate with non-self service media partners.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to mine large sets of data for actionable insights.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. 
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work successfully with teams, and work under pressure. 
  • Strong communication and time management skills. 
  • Strong Verbal & written communication skills.

Preferred:

  • Expert knowledge of media platforms, analytics tools, and software.
  • Google suite of products
